The Trans-Tasman rivals will now go head-to-head for a maiden T20 World Cup title, having never won it before. Australia's batting has been powered by David Warner but there are frailties in the Aussie batting camp that were exposed by Pakistani bowlers in the semi-finals and New Zealand will look to do the same. Apart from the spin threat posed by Ish Sodhi and Mitchell Santner, New Zealand's go-to weapon has been left-arm pacer Trent Boult. While Boult had a rare off day in the semis against England, going wicketless and giving away 40 runs off his four overs, his record in Dubai makes for an ominous reading for the Australians. Boult has a brilliant record in Dubai. He has taken 18 wickets in nine T20 matches since 2020 at an average of 13.50 and has a strike rate of 11.30, which includes two maiden overs as well. To make matters worse for Aaron Finch and his team, the left-armer seems to love bowling against the Aussies. Boult has picked 10 wickets in eight T20Is against Australia, which is the most wickets for him against any team in T20Is. The New Zealander was taken for plenty by England but this was only the second instance in 11 T20I innings where he failed to pick a wicket. He has picked 18 wickets in 2021 so far at an average of 16.61 and an economy rate of 7.00. Boult has been on fire in the ongoing T20 World Cup and has been one of the top performers for the Kiwis. He has taken 11 wickets in this tournament and is the only pacer in this tournament to pick more than 10 wickets till now. Boult will now be looking to cause havoc against Australia and lead his team to their maiden T20 World Cup title.

Kevin Pietersen Predicts Outcome Of T20 World Cup Final Between New Zealand And Australia

T20 World Cup: Former England skipper Kevin Pietersen feels New Zealand have all bases covered, but fancies Australia to win the final at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. The match will be played at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. With both teams eyeing their first T20 World Cup title, the former England batter cited history to make his prediction. In his blog for Betway, he said that although New Zealand are a well-drilled unit, he wouldn't be surprised if the Aussies emerge as winners in the final. "New Zealand seem to have all bases covered, but I fancy Australia," he wrote. "History suggests that when you get these two together in a major final, the Aussies blow the Kiwis away. It's what happened in the 2015 50-over final in Melbourne. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Australia lift the trophy on Sunday," he added. Both teams finished second in their respective groups before beating two tournament favourites in the semi-finals. The Kane Williamson-led Black Caps stunned England in the first semi-final on Wednesday, before the Aaron Finch-led Aussies edged Pakistan, who were unbeaten during the Super 12 stage, in a thriller on Thursday. The 41-year-old also lauded the Australian habit of emerging as winners in a do-or-die situation, which David Warner had exemplified in the second semi-final against Pakistan. "It's the Australian way that when it's do or die, they do. They'll just get the job done. That's why they've been a formidable opponent for such a long time. If they get themselves into a semi-final of a major tournament, they'll find something extra," he wrote. "David Warner is a great example of that. People like to cut sportspeople down very quickly after a bad run - and make no mistake, Warner was struggling with Sunrisers Hyderabad during the IPL - but he hasn't had the success he's had because he's a rubbish player. He's shown his class in this competition when his team needed him most. It's not a coincidence," he added. In terms of all-time T20I head-to-head stats, Australia have won nine games out of 13, but New Zealand won the only game between these two sides at this level, during the 2016 T20 World Cup.

There is no chance of a bilateral series between Pakistan and India anytime soon: Allardice of the ICC

The International Cricket Council's acting chief executive, Geoff Allardice, has stated that a bilateral match between Pakistan and India is unlikely to take place anytime soon. "When they play each other in our events, we definitely enjoy it," Allardice told Belfast Telegraph. "However, the ICC is unable to control the relationship between the two countries and the boards," the acting chief executive added. Pakistan last played India in a bilateral series in 2013, and the teams currently only meet in global events, the most recent of which being the T20 World Cup, where the Men in Green defeated India for the first time in a World Cup. Both of them, however, were eliminated from the tournament — India at the Super 12 round and Pakistan in the semi-finals. "They play, just like any bilateral cricket match, if the two boards agree." They don't if they don't have to. I believe we can't expect much of a change in the near future "Allardice remarked. "It's merely a practical method to keep them separate and let competition work [...]" If they both reach the final of an ICC competition, they will face off in a neutral venue "Added he.
